Joseph Joo, MD
Dr. Joo is an internal medicine physician at the University of Washington. He is an Associate Director of the Value & Systems Science Lab (VSSL) and Instructor in the Department of Medicine at UW School of Medicine. He completed medical school at Texas A&M University and internal medicine residency with Distinction in Care Transformation at Dell Medical School at the University of Texas at
Austin.

He is passionate about improving health care delivery systems. To this end, his current work focuses on analysis and evaluation of health policies, and research on interventions to improve care transitions. Previously, he was a core team member at Dell Medical School studying prototypes to improve care coordination and patient engagement upon hospital discharge. He speaks on how health systems can leverage behavioral economic principles to redesign care delivery.
